Building Tomorrow’s Supply Chain Leaders: The ABCO Systems Scholarship Program

Back to Blog

Dreams start with opportunity. At Capacity, we're proud to partner with ABCO Systems in creating pathways for ambitious students through their innovative scholarship program at Raritan Valley Community College. This isn't just about financial support - it's about hands-on experience solving real supply chain challenges.

The competing students made multiple visits to our New Jersey headquarters, focusing their talents on optimizing our box making operations. This practical challenge gave them first hand exposure to the complexities of modern fulfillment while delivering real value to our operations.

Roland Hoffman captured what many first-time visitors experience: "I never realized how intricate the processes can be. The variety of boxes, the diversity of clients—it's a whole world."

For Debra Burnejko, our company culture stood out. She shared, "I was taken aback by the community vibe here. I used to view work as a place to clock in and out, but you guys have so many engaging events—it's refreshing."

The hands-on improvement project sparked new career aspirations. Aaron Czakowski found his path forward: "This experience solidified my vision for supply chain management. It showed me that with dedication, I can achieve my goals and thrive in this field."

Thais Barros discovered a new passion for practical problem-solving: "Before, it was all about programming. But now, I crave projects where I can provide solutions."

The experience opened new horizons for Roland Hoffman: "I never considered manufacturing or logistics as career options until now."

A Partnership Built on Vision

ABCO Systems, our trusted automation partner, shares our commitment to excellence. Their vision for this scholarship program came from Thomas Hoff, ABCO Chief of Sales, who saw an opportunity to make a real difference in their home state:

"ABCO Systems has always been a New Jersey-based company. We started in Carlstadt, moved to Bloomfield, then to Belleville, and now we're back in Carlstadt. But throughout all these changes, New Jersey has remained our home. That's why it was important to me to support local students, and I felt the best way to do that was through a community college. From the start, I envisioned something different. Many scholarships simply ask students to submit an essay, and the best one wins. But I wanted to provide students with real-world experience—something that would give them real insight into supply chain management."

Through this partnership, we're not just supporting education - we're helping ambitious students turn their dreams into reality. By working on actual operational improvements in our facility, these students gained invaluable experience while contributing to our mission of reliable, efficient fulfillment. That's the kind of win-win we love to deliver.
